Monjuin Temple Wisdom Cherry

This is the Edohigan-zakura cherry tree located on the west side of Seiryuji Temple’s Monjyudo Hall. The tree is tall and powerful. It is tall and powerful, and its dark red flowers are a magnificent color.
It is called “Chiezakura” (meaning “wisdom cherry”) in honor of Monju Bosatsu (Manjusri).

Cherry at Mukaihaguroyama Castle Ruins

You can enjoy cherry blossoms at Ninomaru and Sanomaru. This is a spot where visitors can enjoy hiking and cherry blossom viewing at the same time.
In particular, the cherry blossoms in the Ninomaru area, called ukonzakura (ukon cherry blossoms), are a must-see because of their unusual green blossoms.

Umanohaka no Tanemakizakura

The Umanohaka no Tanemaki Zakura (Horse grave tanemaki cherry) is a benihigan-zakura tree located in the Takata area.
It is a large tree, approximately 15 m tall with a trunk circumference of 6 m. It is said to be approximately 300 years old.

It is said to be about 300 years old. Standing alone in a spacious field, it is a majestic sight.
The small, deep pink flowers that cover the strong trunk and branches are a sight to behold.

Takamagahara no Jindaizakura

The Edohigan-zakura cherry tree, which is about 300 years old, is located in the Takatenbaru area of Isasumi Shrine.
The cherry blossoms are bright red in color, and they soothe the hearts of those who see them until the cherry blossoms fall.
It is designated as a green cultural asset by Fukushima Prefecture.

Furuonta no Sakura

Furuonta no Sakura is located in the Takata area, on the sub ground of Aizu Seiryo Prefectural High School.
It is an 11-meter tall Edohigan-zakura cherry tree that blooms with bright red flowers in spring.

The cherry tree stands where the Isasumi Shrine’s rice paddy used to be, which was donated to Isasumi Shrine by Toyotomi Hideyoshi in 1592.
