Shigeru Honma
Hakuho, located along the Agan River in the southern part of the Aizu Basin; Mukaihaguro Castle, built there; and the townscape of Hongo, which flourished as a pottery town at the foot of the mountain.
Isasumi Shrine, which has a long history as a shrine within the Engi-shiki, and the townscape of Takada, which flourished as the town in front of the shrine.
We will also show you the vegetables, fruits, and rice of each season, along with the high-quality sake and wine made from them.

Naonobu Asakawa
We hope to share with visitors the history of the temple and the traditions passed down in this area, while showing them the current appearance of Hoyoji Temple, an ancient temple in Aizu.

Kikou Osawa
It has been about 1,500 years since the priest moved to this place, which is also the origin of the name of Aizu.
Isasumi Shrine is deeply revered as the founder of Aizu. Tenkai High Priest of the Tendai Sect of Buddhism, who was a great patron of three generations of Tokugawa Shoguns including Ieyasu, built Nikko Toshogu Shrine, and left behind many other achievements during the Edo period. Aizu Misato Town is the birthplace of this outstanding monk. Join us for a visit to this town full of history.

Hideichi Endo
Moriuji Asina, a local hero, built one of the largest castles in Japan, Mukaihaguroyama Castle, in the Eiroku era (1688-1704), and was known throughout Japan as “Aizu ni Asina aru” (Aizu has a name like Asina).
Naoe Kanetsugu and his followers did not hesitate to fight a decisive battle against Tokugawa Ieyasu with this castle.
Climbing up the castle, you can see their grand strategy as if in a vision.
Please enjoy the huge mountain castle where large buses can pass up to the entrance of the castle (Honmaru).

I was born and raised just below Hoyoji Temple, which is lined with historical buildings, and my grandfather was involved in the construction of Hoyoji Temple in an important post. I would like to promote Hoyoji Temple in order to continue to preserve its achievements.
